His theological concepts became the cornerstone of the Christian church and his man-centered (anthropocentric) world continues to dominate theistic thought today.

Today, February 12, 2009, marks the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth. Darwin’s theory of natural selection has inspired breakthroughs in everything from financial analysis (genetic algorithms) to cosmos development (galaxy formation).

The numerologists are working overtime on 2012 and have an avid audience of Chicken Littles. The turn of every numerical coincidence is a cause for celebration and December 21, 2012 at 11:11am is a gold mine. Even setting aside the computer-like binary nature of the date, the mystical power of the number combination 11/11 has its own special place in the supernatural and is associated with many (failed) forecasts. By the way, the 11:11am addition to the date forecast is truly fascinating as there is no reference to this time in any religion, storyline, Mayan calendar, revelation or documentation of any kind. It doesn’t even have an associated time zone. But it certainly gives the numerologists a warm fuzzy feeling.
